How It Works

How your weight-loss journey works

01

Understand your starting point

Begin with a consultation, health history, body-composition assessment, and relevant lab testing.

02

Build your plan

Your doctor reviews your health and goals, while your nutrition plan is shaped around your current habits, lifestyle, and needs.

03

Start treatment

Begin physician-guided weight-loss treatment alongside personalized nutrition and lifestyle coaching.

04

Track and adjust

Follow-ups and repeat body-composition scans help track changes in weight, fat, muscle, and overall progress so the plan can evolve over time.

05

Plan what comes next

Toward the end of the initial program, review your progress and determine what level of ongoing support makes sense.

Medical Treatment

Physician-guided weight-loss treatment

Modern weight-loss medications can help regulate hunger and appetite and are an important part of Meta Glow's medical weight-loss approach. Your physician selects and manages treatment based on your health history, goals, response, and progress.

Start with an evaluation

Your physician reviews your medical history, relevant lab results, current medications, and weight-loss goals.

Personalized treatment

Medication and dosing are selected and adjusted based on your individual needs and response.

Ongoing monitoring

Progress, tolerability, and treatment response are reviewed throughout the program.

Prescription treatment is individualized following medical evaluation.

Nutrition & Lifestyle Coaching

Nutrition support that goes beyond a printed meal plan.

An ongoing coach, not a diet chart — nutrition support built around you and how your treatment is progressing.

01

Understand

We start by understanding how you currently eat — your habits, routine, and relationship with food — a clear, judgment-free picture of where you're starting from.

02

Identify

Together, we identify the highest-impact, realistic changes — a handful of shifts that will actually move the needle, not an overwhelming list.

03

Build

Meals are built around your actual lifestyle and food preferences — what you'll realistically cook, order, or eat on a busy day.

04

Manage

You get specific guidance on protein, fibre, portions, and overall eating patterns — and support adapting to changes in hunger and appetite during treatment.

05

Adjust

Regular check-ins review what's working and what's difficult, and your plan adjusts as your body and circumstances change.

06

Maintain

The goal is habits that hold up beyond the initial weight-loss period — not just a plan you follow while you're being watched.

Vitamin or hydration support may be recommended separately where appropriate — see Wellness.

Progress Tracking

See what's changing — beyond your weight.

The number on the scale can't tell you if you're losing fat, muscle, or both. A 3D body-composition scan gives you and your care team a clearer picture — and a real baseline to track against as your plan progresses.

Body fat percentage

The share of your weight that's fat — a more meaningful number than weight alone.

Muscle mass

How much lean muscle you're carrying, and whether it's being preserved as you lose weight.

Visceral fat

Fat stored around your organs, linked to metabolic health risk beyond what's visible.

Body measurements

Waist, hip, and other key measurements, tracked alongside your scan results.

Scans are taken at the start of your program and repeated during your journey, so progress is always measured against your own baseline.

Additional health assessments

Depending on your health history and needs, your doctor may recommend additional assessments — such as a liver-health scan — as part of your evaluation.

What happens after the initial program?

Toward the end of your program, we'll review your progress and discuss what kind of support, if any, makes sense next.

Continue applying what you've learned without structured ongoing support.

Continue medical support

Continue physician-guided treatment and monitoring where appropriate.

Continue nutrition support

Keep working with nutrition support if additional coaching would be useful.

Some patients may later choose to address separate wellness or body/aesthetic goals.

Weight Loss FAQ

Questions before you get started

Who is the Weight Loss Program for?

Anyone looking to lose weight in a medically supervised, structured way — whether you're just starting out or have tried other approaches before. Your program is built around your individual starting point and goals.

What role does weight-loss medication play in the program?

Medication is a core part of Meta Glow's medical approach for many patients, working alongside nutrition and lifestyle coaching — not a substitute for it. Your physician determines what's appropriate based on your health history, labs, and goals.

What medications does Meta Glow use?

Modern GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide, prescribed and dosed based on your individual evaluation and response.

What tests are needed before starting?

Typically a comprehensive blood panel covering blood sugar, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, and thyroid markers — run at enrollment and re-checked periodically. Your doctor may recommend additional tests based on your individual health history.

What does nutrition coaching involve?

Nutrition coaching starts with understanding how you currently eat, then builds practical, realistic changes around your actual lifestyle and food preferences — including support adapting to changes in hunger and appetite during treatment. It's ongoing, not a one-time meal plan.

How do you track progress?

Using a 3D body-composition scan at the start of your program and again at intervals afterward, tracking changes in body fat, muscle mass, visceral fat, and key measurements — not just the number on the scale.

What happens if I experience medication side effects?

Your care team monitors you throughout treatment and is available if anything feels off. Dosing and approach can be adjusted based on how you're responding.

What happens after the four-month program?

Toward the end of the program, you and your care team review your progress and decide what makes sense next — whether that's maintaining independently, continuing some level of support, or addressing a different goal.

Can I get nutrition coaching on its own?

Yes — nutrition coaching is available on its own, without joining the full Weight Loss Program.

Can I get a body-composition scan without joining the full program?

Yes — a body-composition scan is available on its own, with no obligation to continue into a full program.
